Warm glass refers to the techniques of kiln firing glass to fuse, slump and cast. While similar skills are utilized in the execution of warm and cold glass pieces, I see warm glass techniques as an opportunity to be more organic and spontaneous-more gestural and even abstract.
The lack of the hard, defining lead lines inspires a fluid creative process. Much of my warm work is composed on the fly or from the roughest of sketches, as opposed to my meticulously planned cold work.
